THE OLD RECTORY ACCESS STATEMENT
INTRODUCTION
THE OLD RECTORY IS LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF A VALLEY RUNNING DOWN TO THE IRONBRIDGE GORGE, BUILT IN 1839, THE OLD RECTORY IS OF HISTORICAL AND LANDSCAPE INTEREST .WHILST THE PROPERTY HAS BEEN EXSTENSIVELY REFURBISHED AND REDECORATED IN THE CHARACTER OF THE ORIGINAL, THE GROUNDS ARE STEEPLY RISING GROUND, RISING SOME 40`FROM THE FRONT OF THE PROPERTY TO BACK, MAKING WALKING ACCESS AROUND THE GROUNDS DIFFICULT.
WE HAVE BEEN LIMITED AS TO THE CHANGES THAT WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE, WITHOUT BOTH A SEVERELY DETRIMENTAL CHANGE TO THE CHARACTER AND APPEARANCE OF THE PROPERTY, OR THE LAND UPON WHICH IT STANDS. WE CANNOT OFFER OUR MOBILITY IMPAIRED GUESTS THE ACCESS TO THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PARTS OF THE PROPERTY OR THE GROUNDS, INTERNAL ALTERATIONS ARE HAMPERED BY NARROW PASSAGE WAYS AND STEEP STAIRS.
IT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT YOUR NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS ARE FULLY DISCUSSED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. AS WE ARE RESTRICTED TO ONE GROUND FLOOR ROOM WHICH IS ACCESSABLE. ON ARRIVAL WE WILL CONDUCT A TOUR PIONTING OUT ACCESSABLE AREA`S AND THOSE AREA`S WHERE THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE BUILDING PERMITTS ONLY LIMITED ACCESS

THE NEAREST MAIN LINE RAILWAY STATION IS TELFORD , AROUND 6 MILES
THE NEAREST AIRPORT IS BIRMINGHAM AT AROUND 50 MILES.
THERE IS A BUS STOP SOME 300 METRES FROM THE GUEST HOUSE.

WE HAVE AN L1 FIRE ALARM WHICH PROVIDES ALARMS IN EVERY ROOM AND EXCEEDS ALL CURRENT LEGISLATION.
WE HAVE A SECURITY ALARM WITH SECURITY BUTTONS ON BOTH FLOORS
all rooms have safes, hairdryers , remote control flat screen hdtv`s,hospitality trays and complimentry toiletries, sweets and chocolate
WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF BROSELEY NEARLY ALL SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE .IT IS LESS THAN 1 MILE .
SPECIAL DIETRY REQUIREMENTS CAN BE CATERED FOR GIVEN ADEQUATE NOTICE.
MOBILE PHONES RARELY WORK INTHE PROXIMITY OF THE HOUSE. THERE ARE LIMITED FOOTPATHS BETWEEN THE HOUSE AND THE GORGE.SO IS NOT PARTICULARLY WELL SUITED AS A WALKING CENTRE FOR GUESTS WITH MOBILITY LIMITATIONS
ARRIVAL AND CAR PARKING LOCATIONS
THERE ARE TWO DISABLED PARKING AVAILABLE NEAR TO THE FRONT DOOR, RECEPTION IS CLOSE BY AND THERE IS A LARGE CAR PARK AT THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY BUT ACCESS WOULD NOT SUIT THE LESS MOBILE. THERE ARE 10 PARKING SPACES ON THE LEVEL CLOSE BY THE FRONT ENTRANCE AND A FURTHER 24 IN OUR MAIN CAR PARK. THERE ARE 6 SECURITY LIGHTS AND 4 CAMERAS , PARKING IS ABOUT 100 METERS FROM THE ROAD.WHILST THERE CAN NEVER BE A GAURANTEE, SINCE 1992 WE HAVE NEVER HAD A SECURITY ISSUE , WITH EITHER THE CAR PARKS OR THE PROPERTY. THERE ARE TWO BOLTED TO THE FLOOR BICYCLE RACKS AND SECURE OVERNIGHT STORAGE.FOR CYCLES.
ENTRANCE
There is a clearly marked disability parking bay and off loading zone to facilitate access to the entrance area and front door
THERE ARE THREE STONE STEPS TO THE FRONT DOOR THE STEPS ARE 12 CM.,15 CM. AND 18 CM. HIGH LEADING FROM A RECESSED DOORWAY TO THE GROUND FLOOR HALL. THERE ARE TWO ROOMS THAT LEAD OFF THE GROUNDFLOOR HALLWAY. THE DOORWAYS ARE 72 CM WIDE, AND THE CODED ENTRY LOCKS ARE AT 130 CM. HIEGHT
STAIRWAY AND HALL
THERE IS A STAIRWAY LEADING TO THE UPPER FLOOR WHICH HAS 37 STEPS 18 CMS HIGH AND 17 CMS DEEP. THERE ARE ALSO THREE QUARTER LANDINGS. GUESTS WITH MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT SUITED FOR ACCOMMODATION ABOVE GROUND FLOOR LEVEL. THE HALLWAYS ON THE UPPERFLOOR ARE 70CMS WIDE AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO MANOUVER A WHEEL CHAIR IN RESTRICTED AREAS.
BREAKFAST ROOM
TABLES IN THE ROOMS AND IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM ARE 72 CM. HIGH. BREAKFASTS ARE FULLY SERVED AND GUESTS WILL BE BROUGHT EVERYTHING THAT THEY REQUIRE.
THERE ARE NO PUBLIC TOILETS ON THE GROUND FLOOR.ALL LIGHTING IS LOW ENERGY BULBS.
LUDLOW ROOM
THE LUDLOW ROOM HAS A PRIVATE BATHROOM THROUGH A SECOND DOORWAY THERE IS A PRIVACY LOCK AT 90 CMS. HIGH. IN THE BATHROOM THERE IS A 1750 LONG BATH, AT A HIEGHT OF 50 CMS. THE PEDISTAL IS 43 CMS HIGH AND THE PEDISTAL IS 77 CMS HIGH. THERE IS NO SHOWER . THERE FLOOR COVERING IS SOFT TREAD VYNIL FULLY WATERPROOF.
THE KING SIZE BED IS 64 CMS HIGH AND THERE IS A TABLE WHICH IS 72 CMS HIGH. THERE IS ALS O A DOUBLE SETTEE WHICH IS46 CMS HIGH, A WALL MOUNTED FLAT SCREEN T.V. WHICH IS 122 CMS HIGH AND OPERATED BY REMOTE CONTROL. IN THE EVENT OF FIRE THE ROOM IS 5 METRES FROM THE MAIN EXIT.
THE BED HAS A ORTHOPEDIC MATTRESS AND THERE IS A CORDLESS KETTLE AND FULL HOSPITALIITY TRAY AT 40 CMS HIGH. TABLE LAMPS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BED AT 80 CMS SWITCH HIEGHT.
THE WENLOCK ROOM
FOUR POSTER BED , DOUBLE SETTEE .LARGE HDTV WALL MOUNTED AND A DOUBLE JACUZZI AT 65 CMS FROM GROUND LEVEL ANDTWO WINDOWS WHICH WILL ALLOW MEANS OF ESCAPE IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE.
FIRST FLOOR AND STAFF ACCOMMODATION CAN ONLY BE REACHED BY STAIRS
due to the architectural limitations of these floors we have decided not to grant access to these areas until an improved method of access can be installed.
All of our pillows are anti allergy anti dust mite, all Duvets are anti allergy, anti dust mite and our bed linen is all cotton. we have feather and down items available on request, we use dyson hept cleaners. all linen is stored in sealed containers after laundering.
