This unique Classical Music Festival, now in its nineteenth year, celebrates the compositions of Joseph Haydn and other composers of the late eighteenth/early nineteenth centuries, like Mozart and Beethoven. The festival will feature walks of varying length and difficulty, suitable for all members of the family and walkers of different levels of expertise and ability. Wenlock Olympian Games Celebration
A celebration of the home of the modern Olympics takes to the streets of Much Wenlock as actors and locals re-tell the story of Dr William Penny Brookes and the first Olympian Games in the Town. Find stalls selling locally made food and crafts, re-enactments of Victorian scenes from talented actors and a variety of music acts. A Bird of Prey and a working dog display, a miniature steam railway and a unique performance of the nationally renowned ‘Much Ado About Wenlock’ can all be found in the centre of the town. There will be children’s activities aplenty including ‘the animal man’, face-painting, donkey rides, Punch and Judy and a magic show. Free for all.
