we have published terms and conditions. they are in place to cover exceptional circumstances.in the normal course of events we hope not need to resort to their application.

Booking Deposits

Upon taking a  direct  booking a deposit will be taken to secure the booking., a confirmed reservation. No booking will be secured without a deposit the balance becomes due and payable upon demand after the expiration of the cancellation period. We accept Visa, Switch, Maestro, Mastercard and most other credit and debit cards that are chip and pin secure.we  have the facility to process American Express cards and  a 3% additional surcharge is made for payment by amex card. cancellation /amendment after a confirmed reservation has been made will incurr a 10% administration fee.

 Early or  late Arrival :  Before 4pm or after 10.30 am.                                                                                                                                                             Early arrival and late departure must be by prior agreement with the  management . Charges will be made.at the rate of £10 for every hour or part .                          Please note that our reception closes at 10.pm  .  we reserve the right to refuse admission if  no notice has been given of very late  arrival.                                  Bookings  arriving after that time will be regarded as a no show and no refund will be given.Disgression MAY be exercise subject to circumstances

CONFIRMED RESERVATION

Once a booking has been made and deposit paid , we confirm the reservation.should you then wish to cancell or amend this booking (for whatever reason)a charge of up to 10% will be charged to cover the administration, on line diary amendments etc. we regret the need to charge but updating all of  our on line diaries is time consuming.

Consumption of food or drink on the premises

the old rectory policy is that no food or drink which has not been purchased from the old rectory may be consumed on the premises without specific permission.the old rectory has a 100% non smoking policy within the building but has provided a shelter for smokers. the old rectory has a no pets policy and cannot provide accommodation for any pet. we are happy to recommend alternative guest houses who accept pets.the old rectory provides secure cycle racks and a locked storage room for cyclists. the old rectory has a heated  boot room for walkers.

CANCELLATION

We strongly advise guests to take  out insurance to cover all costs in the event of  the cancellation/ amendment of a confirmed reservation . Guests are reminded that a booking, once no longer provisional , either written or verbal forms a legal and binding contract.conditions include the time of arrival and cannot be varied without specific written  agreement from managment In the event of cancellation / amendment we will use our best endeavours to re-let the room immediately upon notice cancellation, right through to the day of the booking. However there will be no refund if we are unsuccessful and less than ten  days notice have been given. There will  be an administration charge of 10% to cover fees and time and charges.If no notice is given, or same day notice  the guest  will be liable for the full cost of the stay.Bookings cannot be amended , delayed ,transferred or sold on. they remain the exclusive contract between the Old Rectory and the booker. no amendment to the original contract can or will be accepted by the Old Rectory . any persons arriving other than the booker will be regarded as new busness and charged the full tarriff. once a booking has been cancelled verbally or in writing it cannot be re instated, without specific written agreement by the management of the Old Rectory.these terms are absolute and cannot be varied  in any way by any person We reserve the right to transfer or upgrade to an equivalent or higher value room in the event that we are in receipt of a confirmed reservation, (and the guest has not responded to our attempts to contact) and the original room being booked prior to the reservation.All bookings are provisional,subject to the approval of  managment Deposits from agents and brokers  taken to secure the booking are conditional ,and still require the acceptance of the old rectory managment. the managment reserves the right to correct or amend any part of the booking at any time .every care is taken to ensure that imformation is accurate , up to date and factual, but on the isolated occassion of human error the managment reserves the right to correct any misinformation.and contact the guest directly to advise of any changes before the booking is accepted.We reserve the right, as a matter of last resort, to re-assign your booking to an alternative guest house of similar status and cost, within the locality. This would only be in extreme circumstances and every effort would be made to advise of any change prior to arrival .Bookings made in error are not the responscibilty of the old rectory. Guests are responcsible for any failure to read our terms and conditions prior to making a booking.

SMOKING: the old rectory has a non smoking policy but provides smoking areas out side of the building.smoking within the building will result in immediate eviction and probale prosecution.

Guests are advised that burning candles is a serious matter and totally  prohibited. We have a smoke detection system which triggers the main fire detection alarm resulting in the evacuation of the entire building. It is therefore a serious matter which could result in distress or injury to other guests. It is important to note that whilst we can make provision to avoid and protect from specific hazards it is reasonable to accept that all occupants need to accept personal responsibility for their own care and personal safety.where candles have been found to have been used a fine will be made.and the guest reported to the fire services for possible prosicution proceeding.Should any guest be found to have been causal to the creation of any hazard, they will be held responsible. All costs, damages and compensation arising will be their liability. Should a guest, damage, break, foul or soil any fixture, fitting, furniture, carpet, linen or any other fabric for what ever reason they will be held responsible for all and any costs arising for the cleaning repair or replacement of all items so effected. Monies will be withheld from the deposit in such circumstances. Any refund will be forwarded with a statement of costs to the guest as soon as practical.
